Proud to be a bookkeeper!

I have been reading comments within various Facebook groups and other social media posts and quite frankly, here is my opportunity to stand up for Bookkeepers!!

We, as bookkeepers, are NOT at the bottom of the food chain in respect to accounting services, as I have noticed some have recently portrayed us. Bookkeepers provide an integral vital service for all businesses and work hard to make sure the core company transactions are entered in a timely correct manner. But this is not just what bookkeepers do!! Some do accounts, others do payroll and management accounts too!

We fix problems!
We set up procedures!
We implement solutions!

We do not undersell our services, rather others just describe our roles as “Just a bookkeeper”. We are not just bookkeepers, we are just as important as Accountants, and we all play a very important role within our industry and for our clients.

So next time you feel you should say “just a bookkeeper”……Think!! If you didn’t have amazing bookkeepers, then you would not become great Accountants.
